Victor Friedman, one of the most famous and most active linguists with Macedonian orientation is decorated for the exceptional contribution to the affirmation and popularization of contemporary Macedonian language, literature and culture in the United States of America, as well as for the promotion of friendly relations between the Republic of North Macedonia and the United States of America.

American linguist Christina Kramer is decorated for her exceptional contribution to the promotion and popularization of contemporary Macedonian language, literature and culture in the United States of America and Canada, as well as for the promotion of friendly relations between the Republic of North Macedonia and the United States of America and Canada.

Medal of Merit for Macedonia is awarded to individuals and legal entities for the development and promotion in all areas of life and work in the country.
