The President of the Republic of North Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski decorated the Organization of the United Nations with the Order of the Republic of North Macedonia.

The Organization was decorated for its great help and support in dealing with the consequences of the catastrophic Skopje earthquake in 1963 and for its invaluable contribution to the reconstruction of the City of Skopje, which has grown into a city of solidarity and a true symbol of friendship between nations.

The Order of the Republic of North Macedonia is the highest state decoration and is awarded to the most outstanding persons, to governmental and non-governmental organizations, associations, as well as to heads of states and governments who have special merits in realizing the sovereignty and independence of the Republic of North Macedonia, who have contributed for developing and strengthening cooperation and friendly relations with other countries and contributed to the affirmation of the country in all spheres of social life.
