President and MPs of the First Assembly Decorated With Order “8 September”

The President of the Republic of North Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski decorated Stojan Andov, the first President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia and the MPs of the first Assembly with Order “8 September”.

Stojan Andov was decorated for his political activity as the first president of the first multi-party Assembly, leaving an indelible mark in the process of building the Macedonian parliamentary democracy, as well as for his significant contribution to the adoption of necessary state-building acts and documents that clearly paved the way for building an independent and sovereign state.

The MPs were decorated for the adoption of state-building acts and documents that clearly expressed the centuries-old desire of the Macedonian people and other ethnicities to build an independent state, while respecting all citizens regardless of ethnicity or religion, as well as the election of the first President and the first Government, for announcing a referendum for independence and for the adoption of the first constitution, anthem and flag, which laid the foundations of an independent and sovereign Macedonian state.

Order “September 8” is awarded to domestic and foreign individuals and organizations for extraordinary merits in the constitution and construction of the Republic of North Macedonia, for exceptional contribution to establishing and strengthening friendly relations and cooperation with other countries and international organizations and affirming and strengthening its international standing and reputation, as well as for outstanding deeds and merits in the field of security, defense and protection.
