The President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr Gjorge Ivanov decorated the Institute of Earthquake Engineering and Seismology at the University of St. Cyril and Methodius with Order of Merit for Macedonia.

The Institute was decorated following the 50^th anniversary of its foundation, particularly for its exceptional results in scientific and applied activities in the field of earthquake engineering in the country and abroad, significant contribution to reducing seismic risk, protecting human lives and material goods and affirmation of the Macedonian scientific achievements in the world.

Order of Merit for Macedonia is awarded to all those who contributed their efforts and made top achievements in all domains of social life of the country.
